The running time for a robotic lawn mower depends on several different factors. These factors can vary significantly and have a direct impact on how long the mower can operate on a single charge:
Load:
Larger or more complex lawns with slopes or obstacles require more energy, which reduces the running time.
Temperature:
Extreme temperatures (very high or low) can negatively affect battery performance. Batteries operate best in moderate temperatures.
Grass Type and Height:
Denser or taller grass requires more power to cut, which uses more battery. Wet grass also increases the load.
Terrain Condition:
Uneven terrain or many slopes require more energy as the mower has to work harder to navigate.
Battery Size:
The size of the battery pack determines how much energy is available. A larger battery can provide longer running time, while a smaller battery will have a shorter running time.
Please note that the lithium-ion batteries in our robotic lawn mowers should only be used between 5°C and 45°C.
If the mower is used outside this temperature range, it may damage the battery and trigger an error code from the temperature sensor.
Battery Lifespan:
The lifecycle of a Li-ion battery begins with its manufacture. The battery's lifespan is generally 2-3 years. It can be extended under favourable storage and charging conditions and shortened by lack of maintenance.
A robotic lawn mower working 10 hours daily for 7 months uses 1000 cycles of the battery in one season. 1000 cycles is the lifespan limit under the most favourable conditions.
