Maintenance
- Regular Inspection: It is important to inspect your lawn mower every week. This includes checking that all parts are functioning correctly and looking for signs of wear or damage. Regular inspection helps identify problems early and prevents major damage, extending the lifespan of the lawn mower.
- Safety: When performing maintenance, always prioritise your safety.
- Always remember to turn off the lawn mower before starting any form of maintenance, and ensure you follow all safety instructions.
- Wear long trousers and work shoes to protect your legs and feet. Avoid wearing open sandals or being barefoot, as this increases the risk of injury.
Cleaning
- Exterior: To keep the exterior of the lawn mower in good condition, use a soft brush or cloth to remove dirt and grass. Avoid using corrosive solvents like alcohol, petrol or acetone, as these can damage both the exterior and the internal components.
- Charging Station: Ensure that the charging station is free from dirt and mud. This ensures that the lawn mower can dock properly and charge efficiently. Clean the connection points regularly to avoid obstructions that may affect charging.
Specific Parts
- Chassis and Blade Disc: Clean the chassis and blade disc with a brush or water hose. Avoid using a pressure washer, as high-pressure water can penetrate seals and damage electronic and mechanical parts. Ensure that the blade disc rotates smoothly and that the blades can turn freely.
- Wheels: Regularly remove mud and grass from the wheels. This is especially important if the lawn mower is used on sloped terrain, as dirt on the wheels can impair performance and grip.
- Rain Sensor: Check the rain sensor once a month to ensure it is not covered in mud, grass, or other objects. Carefully clean the sensor with a soft brush and wipe it down to prevent false triggers.
- Camera: Regularly clean the camera to ensure it is functioning optimally. A clean camera helps maintain the accuracy of the lawn mower's navigation.
Blade Replacement
- Replace all blades and screws after each season or more often if necessary.
- Use a star screwdriver.
- Turn off the robot before replacement.
- Loosen the screw, remove dirt and grass clippings.
- Replace the blades with new ones and tighten the screws properly.
- Change all 3 blades at the same time to avoid imbalance.
- Check the blade screws during rotation.
- Frequency: To maintain effective cutting and safety, it is recommended to replace the blades and screws every 1-2 months, depending on how often the lawn mower is used. This ensures that the blades are always sharp and in good condition.
- Safety: When replacing the blades, use thick gloves to protect your hands. Do not reuse the screws, as this can lead to the blades loosening and causing serious injury. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for proper replacement.
