The runtime of a robotic lawn mower depends on several different factors. These factors can vary significantly and have a direct impact on how long the mower can operate on a single charge:
- Load:
- Larger or more complex lawns with slopes or obstacles require more energy, which reduces the runtime.
- Temperature:
- Extreme temperatures (very high or low) can negatively affect battery performance. Batteries operate best in moderate temperatures.
- Grass Type and Height:
- Denser or taller grass requires more power to cut, which uses more battery. Wet grass also increases the load.
- Terrain Condition:
- Uneven terrain or many slopes require more energy, as the mower has to work harder to navigate.
- Battery Size:
- The size of the battery pack determines how much energy is available. A larger battery can provide longer runtime, while a smaller battery will have a shorter runtime.
Please note that the lithium-ion batteries in our robotic lawn mowers should only be used between 5°C and 45°C.
If the mower is used outside this temperature range, it may damage the battery and trigger a fault code from the temperature sensor.
